jbooth24 Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 I got a little start to my trip than I wanted but it was still a good trip. I decided to bring my girlfiend with me she has been begging me to take her floating. We launched from Kerr and floated to camp Harlow. We caught it of blue gill and red ear sunfish. I saw some nice size large mouth and one nice size smallmouth. Tried to catch them but they wouldn't bit for me. Other people had some luck catching them thou guess it was not my day at all. But I did catch one smallmouth about 12 inches right under the y highway bride I thought I was hung at first. And I caught it on a live worm which is strange I never caught them befor on a live worm but there is always a first. Over all it was a great float trip and a great day to be on the water.
Fishslayer88 Posted July 21, 2014 Posted July 21, 2014 Worms are great smallmouth bait I like to rig them long ways threading them about 2/3 the way down the body with a split shot about a foot above and let them drift. It's hard to keep the perch off them sometimes grasshoppers are even better.
