Walcrabass Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 So can anyone report on how much rain fell on Son's Creek, Little Sac, Maze Creek, and Big Sac ????? Just wondering how much water might come into the lake to have some effect on the Thermocline.
Members CrappieCole Posted September 2, 2014 Members Posted September 2, 2014 We went fishing last night from 7-830 or so and had 10 bass that were all 3-5 pounds. Average was probably 3. By son sac
zarraspook Posted September 2, 2014 Posted September 2, 2014 Go to this link and scroll down to " Missouri River Basin-Osage River " and it will give you the little sac and sac and pomme river charts....... http://waterdata.usgs.gov/mo/nwis/current/?type=flow&group_key=basin_cd "Look up OPTIMIST in the dictionary - there is a picture of a fishing boat being launched"
Walcrabass Posted September 3, 2014 Author Posted September 3, 2014 Crappie Cole, O.K. I am confused. You caught 10 Bass that weighed 3 to 5 Pounds....the average weight was 3 pounds??? And....since you listed Son Sac...... did you fish at the Motel/ Boat repair center on the highway???? Please straighten me out. If you listed the style of fishing you practiced it would also be of interest.
Members CrappieCole Posted September 3, 2014 Members Posted September 3, 2014 Average weight 3 pounds biggest being 5 smallest probably little over 2. There's a road right across from the repair shop there follow it all the way to the lake. Using crank baits casting into the bank
Walcrabass Posted September 3, 2014 Author Posted September 3, 2014 Crappie Cole, So I guess you were in the Big Sac River portion of the lake South of Birch Branch??? Really surprising that you found so many bigger fish in the shallower water that far from the river entry to the lake after all this heat. Even if you were on the road that travels West by the repair shop and fished in Son's Creek that is a great trip. the last time I was up Son's Creek the Bass were still in the middle of the lake feeding on Shad on top. That has been a few weeks.
Members CrappieCole Posted September 4, 2014 Members Posted September 4, 2014 It was the night it was storming really bad. Lightnin like crazy in the distance when we got there. Fished for about 1.5 hrs then it stared lightning close to us and we headed back. All summer long been goin night fishin with crank baits at night castin towards bank and tearin up like that. But that was the best as in short amount of time and size of fish with that amount of fish we caught. Almost everyone we caught was a legal fish. Normally I crappie fish but this past summer has made me enjoy bass fishing on the lake
