i left the house at about 2 this morning, planning to fish through wednesday, and rolled in to the parking lot at the dam as the sun was coming up. when i got there they were running three generators, so i flicked a scud in outlet 2 until about 11 during which time they kicked it up to four, then back down to three. fishing was streaky... i caught a lot of little guys and two browns in the 15-17" range. i broke for lunch and got a motel room for two nights and took a nap- first sleep in 24 hours. i got up around 2:30 and went back to the dam where they were still running every bit as heavy as in the morning. i decided to go to the boat ramp and play around down there rather than deal with the outlets. after an hour of nothing, i gave up and went back to my truck that wouldn't start. i spent another hour trying to start it, but i had a pretty good idea what the problem was, so i flagged down a complete stranger and had him turn it over while i beat on the gas tank... she started right up.-- fuel pump.

i promptly went back to the motel, packed up, checked out, and headed for my mom's. just for good measure, i called the generation number to see what they were doing when i rolled into my mom's place in cuba... zero units running- woulda been great for fishing tonight.

my stepdad and i are gonna replace the pump ourselves, so it won't be ridiculously expensive, plus, i have a chance to put much needed new shocks on the truck, so it's not a total waste.

Cute animals taste better.

Car trouble puts a dark cloud over a fishing trip, but still a better day than at work...

Hope all turns out well for you...
