Cabela's Waders?

I will be short, meeting in 15 minutes and I cant post a link due to a work firewall.

I was holding out for a new pair of waders. As an equipment freak I was hoping to get a pair of the new Orvis Tailwater TX's but at $329 I am still a bit shy about spending that amount of cash. I have an opportunity with a stack of gift cards, a sale, rebates, and coupons to pick up a pair of the Cabela's Guide Tech waders (their top wader model with the detachable chest bag). They are normally $199 but I think they will end up costing me roughly $30.

Any thoughts on these waders? I live in KC and with a store here I shouldnt have any issues having them replaced/serviced if there are any issues.

I like the chest pack for when it is hot out and I dont want to wear a true vest. I like the articulated knees and fitted feet. They are 5 layer reinforced in the knees and rear.

I would sppreciate any feedback.

I own their waders they work, I did alot of bushwacking in them and they still hold together pretty well and no leaks after 2 seasons of hard fishing

I currently own a pair of their Bluestream cheapo breathable waders. They are in their second season with about 20 fishing days to their credit. I have been impressed with the quality for a $60 pair of waders.

It is good to hear that folks have had good experience with their products. The Orvis waders are great and all but the warranty is the big thing for me at this point. I dont want to have to worry about an expensive pair of waders every time I go out.

I have a pair of their neoprenes and I love them! They are comfortable and are a lot easier to put on with jeans on than I expected. I will find out how comfy they really are next month on Capps from sun up to sun down...

I have a pair of their Riverguide model for fishing and a pair of their insulated waders for duck hunting. Each of them are comfortable and have endured many hours of use/abuse and I have yet to have any problems. I would highly recommend them(especially for the price).

Whatever you do call them (shoe dept.) before you go over. They didn't have them when I was there after Christmas. I too was in the market to upgrade. I spoke with a couple of guys in the fly shop at Cabelas about waders. They both highly recommended gore-tex. I asked them which brand they recommended thinking they would tell me Cabelas. They both told me Simms. With nothing on hand I ran over to K & K Flyfishers (http://www.kkflyfisher.com/) at 87th and Grant in Lenexa. They sold me a pair of Simms L2's that they fit for me. I spent 4 days at BSP in them and cannot believe I have fished for so many years without them! I highly recommend them and also recommend K & K. Plus it isn't as far from my Cass County home!

I've got a pair of the Cabelas dry plus breatheables and love them. They are the $100.00 GII model. Three seasons of regular use and no problems.

If they would only honor my $150 in Cabela's gift cards........

I haven't had anything but Cabela's waders for several years now. I can say that they are very well built for the money. I basically lived in a pair for 10 days on a float trip. When you cook, put up camp, and get in and out of a raft for 10 days, that is really hard on waders, but mine held up until I finally put a rather large hook through them. So now I use the leaky pair during the summer. I will say that I sheared the felt off of my Cabela's boot in an effort to move "quickly" away from a bear, but other than that I love the Cabela's guide boots.
