Okieflyfisher53 Posted January 16, 2007 Posted January 16, 2007 They have finally started letting some water out at Keystone Dam. It is at 4,960 cfs right now. It has been at around 45 cfs for months. I will try to get down there and try the fishing this weekend. Steve
Okieflyfisher53 Posted January 22, 2007 Author Posted January 22, 2007 I tried my luck this morning. The water level was good, about 260 cfs, but it was extremely murky from the runoff. I fished for a couple of hours with no strikes and decided to call it quits. The fishing should be good when the water clears a little. Steve
Members Flyfisher33 Posted January 23, 2007 Members Posted January 23, 2007 Okie, Keep us posted, as I would like to try my luck up that way some this winter.
Okieflyfisher53 Posted February 13, 2007 Author Posted February 13, 2007 I tried it for a couple of hours yesterday morning. The water was at 537 cfs and has cleared nicely since the last time I was there. I tried 4 areas that usually hold fish and had no luck. The only fish that I caught were a few buffalo that I foul hooked. I will keep trying and eventually I will find some stripers and hybrids down there. Steve
Members hornyheadchub Posted March 8, 2007 Members Posted March 8, 2007 I've been told that they've been running lots of water for the last week ot two. Any new reports?
Okieflyfisher53 Posted March 9, 2007 Author Posted March 9, 2007 Sadly, it seems to be one extreme or the other this year. There has been too much water the last couple of weeks to even think about trying it. Steve
Members hornyheadchub Posted March 20, 2007 Members Posted March 20, 2007 Anything new here? I've heard some rumors.....
Okieflyfisher53 Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 hornyhead, I still haven't been able to fish it. When I sm off work the water has been rolling. It is above 4000 CFS right now. If anyone else has had a chance to fish they must be keeping tight lips about it. Steve
Members Kevin Blankenship Posted March 27, 2007 Members Posted March 27, 2007 What rumors have you heard horneyhead? I seen some people wade fishing it a few weeks ago. The water was pretty high that day but they were still wading. The water has been extremely high (up to 19000 cfs at times) so I am pretty sure no one has wade fished it for the last few weeks. Maybe the water will come down soon... I am wanting to go badly. Kevin
