Members dtbrake Posted February 12, 2015 Members Posted February 12, 2015 So made my first trip to check out this access this evening. First impressions looked like a great place to hangout, BBQ, and just relax. I decided to head down there after buying my first ugly stick this afternoon. i wanted to get out and beat the water a little bit and get a feel for it to decide on buying another. it was the GX2 which came recommended by a fishing buddy of mine. The rod seems fine however i just tossed a little grub around on a 1/0 cast pretty decent. The thing im not sure about is the 2 piece design. living in my truck its kinda nice being able to stick it behind the seat but only time will tell once i hook something to the other end. Anyway i temped the water right off the bank came in at 47ish(not digital). Ran into Jbooth down there i believe didnt say anything ya looked busy. well just posting to post really but do have one question. The black tube deals hanging off the tree on the east bank, what is it just curious?
jbooth24 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I wasn't down there today. Will be down there Friday after work. But that is a fun part to fish. Both me and mofloatjunkie fish there often there are some good holes. And good size fish. Just really got to have a kayak or boat to get tot them. The black things was a old rope swing someone made. A few years ago
Members dtbrake Posted February 12, 2015 Author Members Posted February 12, 2015 I thought i remember reading you drove a white malibu and your down there oftenish so kinda fit together. Thats kinda what i thought it might be, but i didnt really see the point in having so many.
jbooth24 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I drive a green one with an arrow as an antenna has some see decals on the back window
Members dtbrake Posted February 12, 2015 Author Members Posted February 12, 2015 saw an impressive craw down there as well. Going to have to do some investigating to match my lures though im sure its not that big a deal. However never hurts to match the local forage.
jbooth24 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 On the James and springfield lake I use something with green in it. Or green chartruce or pumpkin. Rebel crawldad. Have caught bass on spinner baits that we're green with green blades am also some with green and black in them
jbooth24 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 The crawldads are big there caught some huge ones every year from there up river
jbooth24 Posted February 12, 2015 Posted February 12, 2015 I have crawldad traps if you want to use one. Pm If you ever have any questions abou there or James or springfield lake at all
