Smallieguy87 Posted February 20, 2015 Posted February 20, 2015 so I started as a trout fishermen and always used ultra light/light spinning gear. I have thought about trying a flyrod for many years and have finally decided to start the hunt for one. I know little about fly rods so i was wondering if anyone had any advice or suggestions. It would be used mainly for trout but occasionally smallmouth. I was thinking a 6 or 7 weight should work well for both. If it helps i'd mostly be fishing current, meramec, white river and the current. Any advice on brands, weights, lines, etc would be great.
