Members steven1231 Posted March 19, 2015 Author Members Posted March 19, 2015 Fishslayer was you fishing from boat? Day or night thanks for any info I plan on going this weekend so I will relay my reports back as well
Fishslayer88 Posted March 19, 2015 Posted March 19, 2015 I fished out of my canoe last night and did ok and again this morning but they were pretty tight lipped. Im gonna go again this evening if it warms up a bit.
Members Colton Posted March 20, 2015 Members Posted March 20, 2015 Just fished galena area for the first time last year, is the blunks what you call the area at the end of blunk rd? What is the name of the gravel bar up from that? Where u have to go through some tight trails.
Fishslayer88 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Yes the ramp and parking area at the end of Blunk road is what everyone refers to as Blunks. The gravel bar at the end of blunk trails is Taylor Shoal.
Fishslayer88 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 The bite was pretty much non existent this evening lots of boats between Blunk and McCord and no one was catching. Colton 1
Members Colton Posted March 20, 2015 Members Posted March 20, 2015 Thanks for the info fishslayer. Are their any other spots a person can wade out around the galena area?
Fishslayer88 Posted March 20, 2015 Posted March 20, 2015 Yeah but they are all above the fish right now. Camp Harlow (Shoals Motel) and the old Y bridge in galena. You should be able to get some around Blunks this weekend. I would head down river from the ramp to the bluffs theres a trail in the corner of the upper parkinglot that runs along the river.
