nxs Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 Water was up a tad still lots of leaves and assorted junk floating on the water in places. Water temp was running around 48* when we got there and saw some up at 51* before we left. Other than a couple of short bass and seeing a couple of something's caught fishing wasn't much, for us anyway. Got to watch an eagle trying for a duck dinner but he missed his chance. May try again come Monday.
Rickf Posted March 21, 2015 Posted March 21, 2015 We're there any parking places? I went yesterday and the parking lot and grass was even full. By the way no whites for me but did find a mess of big crappie, to bad for me!! Not
nxs Posted March 22, 2015 Author Posted March 22, 2015 I'd take the crappie any day over the whites. I figured this weekend would be busy down there. Going to try and head down again tomorrow. Were your crappie deep??
Bubbas Dad Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 The crappie I caught yesterday in Beaver were in 18ft of water.
nxs Posted March 22, 2015 Author Posted March 22, 2015 I had hoped they'd be moving up to more shallow water by now. We were down there a week or so ago and there were a lot of either water patrol or Conservation agents in the lot. Had a couple of boats and were taking turns running up into Beaver and then back towards Barkers. Anyone know if they were just training or what.
Rickf Posted March 22, 2015 Posted March 22, 2015 All of the crappie I've been catching have been on the bottom in 20 to 25, a lot of them have been 14 to 16". They have not been in the brush.
