Members decoded Posted April 17, 2015 Members Posted April 17, 2015 Put in at Bucksaw about 9:30. Most folks were heading further upstream, past the bridge, but we stayed pretty much across from the campground. My son and I cleaned 12 nice crappie and 4 keeper white bass (I love to eat them!) and were home before lunch. Water was right at 65 and surprisingly clear...well, not muddy anyway. Tried a few things, but I think every fish came off of a slider. Looks like a rainy weekend, so I'm glad I took the day off!
shaker Posted April 19, 2015 Posted April 19, 2015 Thanks for the report again looks like the lake is warming up nicely I'm sure that this cold front after the rains this weekend will cool things down for a day or two but I plan on getting on the water about the middle of next week. The crappie slider is a pretty good bait I throw them a lot in the Spring time great bait on a road runner type head when the water is really muddy too. RB
Members decoded Posted April 19, 2015 Author Members Posted April 19, 2015 We got a little over 1/2" of rain here just west of Clinton today. Forecast is for more tomorrow. Guess we'll see! I was really surprised at how pretty the water looked yesterday. Could probably see the jig down 2 feet...
