Members Spencer Posted April 30, 2015 Members Posted April 30, 2015 Threw clousers on Richland from 4-7 today. From the bluff all the way up passed the bridge as far as I could wade, and not a single bite. I did see a group of about 7 goslings and one angry gander near the mouth of mill branch - my presence was definitely not appreciated. I think you are right JohnF52, the whites have moved back to the lake.
PigSooner Posted April 30, 2015 Posted April 30, 2015 I caught one nice white bass today on war eagle between mill and 50 cent hole. Was only able to fish for an hour or so. So there are some still up the river arms.
Members Chef of the Sea Posted April 30, 2015 Members Posted April 30, 2015 Had to go see for myself. This morning looked like a completely different river. Very still and spotted hardly any fish, even less bumps. Glad I got to have fun with the white bass a couple days this year. Missed out the first three years I lived in nwa, mainly due to ignorance. Does anybody have any other ideas on where to wade and throw a fly for some fish. I have no intentions of keeping the fish, and working in a restaraunt my fishing hours are random, and probably won't wreck anybody's day. Not picky about what kind of fish, beaver tailwaters is just along way from Fayetteville for a few hours. Thanks for any help
JohnF52 Posted April 30, 2015 Author Posted April 30, 2015 West Fork of the white behind the Brentwood rest stop on Hwy 71 south has a reputation for being a good late spring wading stream. Also, Illinois River near Savoy on Highway 16 west. The Illinois has lots of Rock Bass.
