Skeeter ZX190 Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Put in a Long Shoals about 9:30 a.m. on April 30th. Fished until 4:00 p.m. Brought home 16 keeper crappie. It was really hit & miss. They weren't on the bank. Out away in 4 to 8 feet of water. Mostly males. 4 females in the 16. Still had eggs. Water was very clear and the temps were 63 to 64 degrees. Went back the next day and got on the water around noon. Fished till 5:30. Came home with 21 crappie and a 21 inch walleye. Water had warmed to 65 to 67 degrees. Still no fish on the banks. Only 2 females in the bunch. Eggs were pretty bloody and loose. Most everything came on a 1/16th ounce white grub. slab slinger and Hammer time 2
slab slinger Posted May 2, 2015 Posted May 2, 2015 Great report. Sounds like it's starting to cut loose up north on the BIG T. Thanks for the valuable info.
Members decoded Posted May 7, 2015 Members Posted May 7, 2015 Thanks for the update Brad. My son fished there last week with his grandpa and said from the looks of the water, he thought he was on Stockton! Holler next time and I'll meet up with you on the water...
shaker Posted May 7, 2015 Posted May 7, 2015 I fished Tuesday put in at Bucksaw and headed East and I did manage to catch a limit but they were very scattered mostly one fish here and there I did find one brush pile close to a bank and caught several off that. I caught just a few on the bank most were out away form the bank about half way back to the boat. Most of the fish that I caught were females some looked spawned out some looked ready the eggs were very loose and some looked close but still not ready. No one particular color was the best maybe the Electric Chicken was better than most? I caught some of the Bobby Garland Stroller and some on the Baby Shad and a few on tubes of various colors. The water temps when I left were 67 to 69 degrees water color was beautiful. The catch of the day was a 16 inch walleye up close to the bank. RB
