vonreed Posted May 12, 2015 Posted May 12, 2015 Me and my boy are wanting to float the Arkansas River. We know it's a sandy fairly slow moving river. I am trying to find out as much info as I can on it before we go. Is there anyboy around the Tulsa area who does vehicle shuttling? Any other info or advise would be helpful if you guys know any.
hoglaw Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Man I wouldn't touch it in a paddle craft in arkansas but maybe you're above the channeled part of it in tulsa? I know guys wade fish up there.
Guest Posted May 13, 2015 Posted May 13, 2015 Its running from 200-300,000 cfs right now. (ft smith area) I would wait until late summer when it slows down. (canoeing)
vonreed Posted May 13, 2015 Author Posted May 13, 2015 Ya judging the satellite photos it is not channelized.

(canoeing) Yeah I was more thinking above Tulsa where it is not affected by the lake discharges as much. The flow up there is a lot lower than the Fort Smith area.
