Members uofastudent Posted May 18, 2015 Members Posted May 18, 2015 I am wanting to troll crank baits for crappie tomorrow, normally like pt. 12 area is still muddy. Is beaver shores muddy?
Members LarryC Posted May 19, 2015 Members Posted May 19, 2015 I started at Hickory Creek this evening. Downstream to the water intake it is extremely muddy plus loaded with trash/logs. From the water intake to the railroad cut at Horseshoe Bend it is still muddy but not as many logs. At the nursery pond the water was partially clear....actually not a bad color. I stopped there and was trying to find the new brush piles but they escaped the side scan. Caught a few spots in the brush. As much trash as I saw today, I'm sure some of it will make find its way clear to Rocky Branch. Be on the lookout for the logs. Making Beaver Lake safe for all the little fish...one striper at a time.
Guest Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 The mudline was located at the gap in horseshoe bend. Mouth of Monte Ne was muddy, but the water looked good around the HB recreation area. There were logs floating in various areas past the 12 bridge.
JohnF52 Posted May 19, 2015 Posted May 19, 2015 It is difficult to keep trolled baits free of debris even around 12 bridge and Prairie Creek now. There is so much loose grass suspended in the water you end up with a big string of it on the lure every five to 10 minutes. Frustrating for trolling, as I doubt fish would often hit a fouled lure.
