nxs Posted May 20, 2015 Posted May 20, 2015 Fishing was tougher today for us. Managed 10 keeper crappie and 1 large perch or Bluegill for PD. 8 of the crappie still had eggs and a couple were getting that "coffee grounds" look to them. Also caught several small blacks a couple of short smallmouth. 3 walleye biggest running 14 1/2". Keepers have been hard to find lately. Almost all on minnows again on the bottom in mostly 25' of water. Did get a couple of crappie early at 15'. Wind made it hard to hold early but got better as the day went. MDC come by with their survey. Ask we if thought they should lower the spot length limit and Ralph told them 10" would be about right. Hardly ever keep one so doesn't make much difference to us. Personally I don't like them but the wife wants one about once a year. Not many there this trip but met several boats coming toward the lake when we left out about 5pm. Dutch there was getting to be quite a bit of moss in one cove floating around and it was always on your line. No snakes this trip
