As I started fishing for Striper/hybirds about 5-6 years ago and being a fairly consistant catch and release guy I thought I would carry this over to this new fish. I was told by some locals at the time that the mortality rate for a released striper was very high and that I should keep all the striper I catch. Thankfully just learning I did not catch that many Striper that year. Since then I try to release all of the Striper that I catch if possible. I seem to have good luck with this, but I have been told that a portion of these fish do not survive. I recently read an article about this and thought it might make an interesting discussion.
