Members Hayduke-2-O Posted January 2, 2006 Members Posted January 2, 2006 How early is too early to begin pursuing walleye below powersite? There are stories of "oldtimers" from "back in the day" who would begin as early as mid-december. I also understand that the water below powersite is very low... but is that the only thing we're waiting on?
Wayne SW/MO Posted January 2, 2006 Posted January 2, 2006 I don't know that there is a "time". Most start in earnest a little later, but right now there is very little water. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.

That's what I figure. Some years you can really fill the boat starting in January, but my guess is water level and temperature has more to do with fish being below the dam than calendar. As low as it is now you're best bet is probably down around Beaver Creek.
