vonreed Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 I have a half English Setter, half Black Lab puppy. She's about 2/3 light tan and 1/3 white with a white tip on her tail. We need some names for thought. Let me hear them! thanks

polock Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 you could always name it damnit... cause you are just going to be saying that ahead of its name for the first 6months
jjtroutbum Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Interesting idea! Is this lady dog gonna work(hunt or something)? Could be really good at lots of things, as well as gives a hyper/"birdy" dog a lil positive direction;) Any character traits? and of course Im gonna ask to see a picture. Leonard Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Let me start by saying the name is in the personality.... Dont be to quick on the name, give it a few days.. because 6 month down the road you dont want to catch yourself saying "I should have named you _____" We have a little dotson... and we named him scrappy... 8 weeks old.. second day with us.. we took him out for a walk.. a german shepard walked by.. and that little puppy thought he could tear the big dog up!!!... Also have a rabbit.. (no not for fly tying...yet!!) we thought about name her thumper.. she would thump her back feet when ever you would little her out of her cage... But we notice something right away.. she loved to nibble more then she thumped... so we decided to name her Nibbles.. she chews on beds, rugs, pillows, sheets, blankets, shoes, and if your sitting in the floor with her.. she will chew on your clothes... worst then a puppy so like I said give it a day or two.. and you'll find the "RIGHT" name But for now.. do like Polock said.. thats a well rounded name for a puppy http://www.taneycomonights.com
MrsDucky Posted February 6, 2007 Posted February 6, 2007 Having had a dog named "Wags", a cat named "Hidee" (it liked to hide), and one named "Flower" (it was black and white), I say go for character traits or looks. We named a dog "Pickles" once...because it made "pickle juice" on the way home...in my lap! I never did like that dog! We named a cat "Tuffy", not due to personality, due to a disagreement on naming it. I wanted "Taffy" (I was about 10 at the time!) and my mom wanted "Fluffy". So we put down two slippers, and said whichever one she goes to is her name...darned if she didn't go right up the middle! So, since "Flaffy" makes no sense, we combined them to "Tuffy." Is it any wonder I don't have a pet now? They don't like their names! I can bring home the trout...fry it up in a pan...and never let you forget I caught it! 'Cause I'm a woman!
