Members Otis Roostertail Posted July 19, 2015 Members Posted July 19, 2015 My son and I worked the White River today from Rim Shoals down to Fletcher Mountain. Dam releases today averaged 10,500 CFS. Plenty of water today....We tried everything under the sun. Zig Jigs, Lindy grubs, sculpzillas, rapalas, and roostertails with mixed success. After about 3:00 pm today the bite turned on while we were using 1/4oz Rainbow and Brown Trout Roostertails. Shot some video of our catches but can't figure out how to upload it from my old video camera...I will post it when I figure it out. We pulled out numerous 10 inch trout but did land some nice larger Rainbows. The browns we caught were 12-16 inches in size.We anchored once in Shoestring Shoals to haul in a few Rainbows but drifted everywhere else. Overall a great father/ son day on the River. Men and Fish are alike....They all get into trouble when they open their mouths....
Members Mac's Orphan Posted July 19, 2015 Members Posted July 19, 2015 Wow - lots of water and fly'n down the river!! Time well spent with your son! It always makes a special day when you can enjoys some success while outdoors. Cherish the memories... it's one of the few things that really matter. If I'd known I was gonna live this long, I would have taken better care of myself...
