Members burton brown Posted August 11, 2015 Members Posted August 11, 2015 Hey guys, I was wondering if anyone knew of or fished any decent small streams in the southern St. Louis area. I've done a lot of driving around scouting and plenty of looking on google earth but I can't find many places that have decently easy access. I'm target pretty much anything that bites, lol. I'd really love to find a nice spot to do some carp fishing. Well I know this is a long shot since everyone knows fisherman keep their honey holes under wraps but I figured someone might be willing to point me in the right direction. Also, has anyone fly fished the Rockford beach area for smallmouth?
Al Agnew Posted August 11, 2015 Posted August 11, 2015 Very few smallmouth as far downriver as Rockford Beach. I'd wait for low water conditions and then check out the Bourbeuse at any of the three public accesses around Union. You might have to do some wading to get to good carp spots, but there are plenty of them in the Bourbeuse.
Members burton brown Posted August 11, 2015 Author Members Posted August 11, 2015 Thanks Al, I'll have to try to check thst out some time. Union is a little more than a hour from me so I'd like to find something a little closer if possible. My parents live in sainte Genevieve and we have a great smallmouth stream there so if I'm going to drive very far I'd probably end up heading there.
