I'm wanting to branch out on my fishing areas. I'm an East Texas transplant. iV been fishing really stAined water all my life. Maybe why I stay south of the bridge a lot. IV always launched out of PC. I'm thinking about Friday after work launching at Rocky Branch and running to Rambo. I study navionics maps a lot and for some reason that area looks ideal for the current water and temp conditions. Thanks in advance for input.

Rambo has a lot of submerged trees. With water temps in the upper 80's and possibly still near 90, I'd fish around 20-25ft. On ledges near creek beds or channel swings. Secondary points also.

Sounds like the see stuff you read in bass magazines but it's true. I say this based on personal experience, not whatagainst tell me. This lake fishes just like a river does. Just much larger. They relate to rocks, trees, boulders, etc much like a river. It is in fact a river system, so even when there is very little or no current, wind creates a bit of current and fish relate to it often times.

Rambo I have not fished in that often. But if it were me, I would fish a dropshot worm. Try multiple sizes and let the fish tell which one they want. Don't be afraid to downsize to a 3" finesse worm either. A Carolina rig on a flat outside the trees may get you a couple also.

My approach is to separate fish and trees on my electronics, you can see them just one or two fish hanging on a tree. Then drop shot and/or drop a spoon in their face. No color or approach works every time but when you find that right color worm or right size spoon, stay with it and find more trees.

It is slow and direct fishing under the sonar, not the cast and reel that most people think of as bass fishing so if not your thing I understand. I have pulled up a 8lb walleye like that and he was the only fish in the tree top, also a method most trolling walleye fishermen would not enjoy.

The more you bump and scrape against the tree the bites you will trigger.
