Members Slippery Posted September 9, 2015 Members Posted September 9, 2015 Going to be starting my 1st full year of waterfowl hunting and am itching to the Teal Season to start. Question is; Are teal very common in the smaller rivers in SW Mo? (James, Finley, etc) We killed several ducks on the Finley last winter when everything else was solid. Or is my best bet to stick to larger bodies of water? Any input is greatly appreciated.
brother dave Posted September 10, 2015 Posted September 10, 2015 I have had some luck for teal on the Missouri, the Mississippi and lakes (like Mark twain, Thomas hill and table rock) But generally do better in the shallows in bottom land swamps, like Ted Shanks, eagle bluffs, mtc, Columbia bottom and bk leach. On the smaller creeks and rivers I loose sight of them in the background, so unless they decoy down I don't get a shot. Slippery 1 I shop at the outdoor grocery store
