Members Lucky Fly Posted February 14, 2007 Members Posted February 14, 2007 Hello, I have been fishing Roaring River for the last 3-4 years. After Bill Tenison at White River Angler suggested I try it out when Beaver is running full bore. Anyway, I have really enjoyed my trips, especially the catch and release season. My question is about zone 3. How do I find Muncy cemetary and is the access roads by the stables good places to fish. I would like to escape the crowds during the summer for a little quite time when i am up there. I come in on Highway F from eagle rock. Thanks Steve "Trout Don't Live In Ugly Places"
timsfly Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 Well, if you are comming in from eagle rock, it is the second county road on your left. Don't know the road #. If that isn't right, when you get to the conservation area just outside the park, on hwy F, turn around and it is the first county road on your right, and about 1 mile down that road. the cematary is on the left, and the river of course is on the right. I usually park in that area and walk upstream, the water all looks good now, but there are the usual holding areas, so be prepared to walk a lot and fish all the water that looks good, with the higher water we have right now you could find a trout in any good looking water, but there are several good holes about a 1/2 mile above the cemetary, and a few down below as well, good luck. A big bugger is always a good choice down thru there. Tim Homesley 23387 st. hwy 112 Cassville, Mo 65625 Roaring River State park Tim's Fly Shop www.missouritrout.com/timsflyshop
Steve Smith Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 If the snow plows haven't taken out the road signs , Munsey Cemetery Road is FR 1162. FR 1168 just east of Munsey will take you down to Curry’s Crossing and FR2260 off of Hwy 86 will cross over Curry’s bridge. The Curry family originally homesteaded the lower Roaring River before Table Rock Lake was impounded. ___________________________ AKA Flysmith - Cassville MO
