Members torreyislandkid Posted February 15, 2007 Members Posted February 15, 2007 Hi all New to this forum from Marshall Tx.Looking for reports from South West Ark. Also will be in Ft Smith last two weeks in March. Any reports from that aeria?
Terry Beeson Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 Welcome to the forum. Not many of the members here would be in the SW Arkansas area and just a few from Ft Smith and north. So you might not get many reports from the area you are talking. Maybe north of Ft Smith... If you want to take the drive to Beaver Lake or Beaver tailwaters, there are several on here that can help you out... Danimal Posted February 15, 2007 Posted February 15, 2007 I may be able to help. What type of fishing are you hoping to do ? Dan-o RELEASE THOSE BROWNIES!!
Members torreyislandkid Posted February 16, 2007 Author Members Posted February 16, 2007 Im realy interested in striper or hibred fishing. But will fish for most anything.Bass, crappie and I heard that there was Sauger there also. So what ever is biteing I will try.
Danimal Posted February 17, 2007 Posted February 17, 2007 Try the Arkansas River below lock & dam #13 just outside of Ft. Smith for white bass, stripers, & sauger at that time (though the sauger run will have peaked by then). I would also check out the lower Illinois R. in Oklahoma about 30 miles west of FT. Smith for some great striper action. For trophy stripers go to Lake Ouachita near Hot Springs. White jigs work well for all of the above. For additional information go to www.agfc.com. Click on "fishing", then click on "weekly fishing report". You'll get a region by region breakdown of the state along with a lot of information. I hope this helps. Dan-o RELEASE THOSE BROWNIES!!
