Members fishhook1.0 Posted December 11, 2015 Members Posted December 11, 2015 Was out yesterday, nothing. Fished up from PC. Lot of folks out, mostly live bait fisherman. I trolled plugs from 10 to 5 and seen a lot of bait but no fish. Big water color change just before War Eagle. Didn't fish any from there up but looked. Bait was nill in the colored water. Waited for the late fall to get here and the water temp to get in the 50's and nothing. What are you all thinking? fishhook
Blll Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 From the reports and talking to fisherman, the bite seems pretty good. Most success has been on live bait and spoons with a few crank fish. I spent a lot of time last month trolling plugs with very little to show for it, in fact nothing. What I've learned in my 2nd season is to adapt and move around if you want to catch em. There also seem to be shorter windows of activity. Thanks for the water condition update. Good luck! J-Doc 1
Stump bumper Posted December 11, 2015 Posted December 11, 2015 Tons of food in the water right now, if you don't want to use live bait you are going to have to locate feeding fish and hit them on the head. Sit on the trees or brush piles and wait for them to get hungry, I saw that with crappie fishermen, trees are covered but they feed for an hour then shut down. With all that food I don't think anything is chasing food, the fish just sit there wait for a ton of shad to come by and open their mouths. I got a 5lb LM on a jerkbait last week and he just inhaled it and sat there felt more like I bumped a twig then a fish hitting. Good luck and trust in your electronics. J-Doc 1
