The wife and I drove from Farmington to Joplin last night. About 30 miles east of Springfield, on I-44, we ran into a snow storm. It was wild! The thing was people were still driving 70 or better. We quit counting after 15 wreaks and 2 of those were roll overs. :o

I can not understand how people can put there lives and the lives of others at risk, just because they percieve they are in a hurry. :(

People don't use good sense when the weather gets bad for driving. I see another thing down this way that diturbs me too and that is the number of young people that don't wear seat belts and die because of it. I guess wearing a seat belt isn't cool but to die is?

They're in a hurry to get home and get out of the weather....

Yep... it's funny how "stupid" some people get when they get behind the wheel of a vehicle... snow or no snow... ;)

I tell people all the time that I have picked up several dead driver's and passengers from the roads and ditches, but I've never cut one out of a seatbelt! They DO save lives. I'm sure there are circumstances that the seatbelt could cause more damage than not wearing one, I've just never run across it in my 12+ years of EMS service!
