Started out today with high expectations with the warmer weather. However Mother Nature had a since of humor and decided to provide a some wind. With the combination of high generation and wind it was difficult to mannuver the boat.

That said, perchjerker and I had a great day fishing. We caught several nice rainbows on white jigs. When the wind got bad we switched to #4 rapalas. We were fishing just above the rebar hole and down to Lookout bluff. In the afternoon we moved down lake below Cooper's Creek and caught smaller rainbows throwing a gold and red dot 'lil Jakes'.

We fished from 7:30am to 4:30pm and caught and released 42 rainbows and 0 browns. Percherjerker thinks it was because we wore our new OAF lucky fishing hats. ;)

That's all for now. I got to tie some more white jigs for tommorow. if tomorrow is like today we will have to use sun screen. Not bad for February, wind and all. B)

Good Fishin,

Hit Taney late Sunday eve after church with friend Steve Wagner

from Jefferson City. Actually he's from Bland but who ever admits that???

Sunday eve was tough with one decent fish,

a 19" rainbow pictured above.

It was caught on a rapala just before dark.

On Monday (a govt worker holiday), we arrived to wind & water!!!

While we preferred to fly fish,

it would have been a little much to manage

the wind, water, and my boat.

So we threw cleo's, spoons, and rapalas.

Caught just enough to keep it interesting until about 3 pm.

Then it got hot!!!

Anything with silver or white took fish.

They are definately locked onto shad right now.

Fun trip.

Oh, by the way....

Steve caught a largemouth bass above Phil's.

Imagine that with all the water that's been running!
