netboy Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Fished the area around Greer access today. Caught a few small trout, but didn't see near the normal action for that area. Best fly was a pink egg pattern. I hope the floods haven't hurt the trout population but that's my second trip there in the last 2 weeks and both were tough fishing.
Brian Sloss Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Fishing has been so, so lately. Try some other places on the river. I am scouting one of the lower stretches for upcoming guide trips. Some of the trout have moved upstream between Cane Bluff and Greer over the winter as well. I think you give much credence to the flood ruining the population. They were fine right after the flood, though the fishing has declined in the last 3-4 weeks or so. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
netboy Posted March 7, 2016 Author Posted March 7, 2016 Thanks for the info Brian. May give the area around Turners a try.
Mark Posted March 7, 2016 Posted March 7, 2016 Guessing a good stocking is due shortly if it doesn't flood.
Brian Sloss Posted March 8, 2016 Posted March 8, 2016 Maybe this week for the flood, not the stocking. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
