Members UseUrHeadFred Posted March 10, 2016 Members Posted March 10, 2016 Lake 36, 9a-11a: First jetty on the far side. Fished with a 1/32 oz chartreuse tube jig under a float. Many, many short bites. Added a crappie nibble, caught two good crappie about five feet down. Seemed to be congregating on the channel's edge on the opposite side (adjacent to the island). Lake 36, 12p-2p: Fished a minnow under a bobber. Caught one right away, not even a bite after. Noticed lots of bluegills hanging out on the riprap, some of them quite large. Lake 27, 3p-6p: Fished a minnow under a bobber. Water was crystal clear, almost like a swimming pool. Caught around 15 largemouth bass, most under 12", but a couple of nice 15" fish. It was one after another. Not what I was after, but it sure was fun. Could see them turn their attention to my minnow while they patrolled the shallows. If anyone has any info on bluegills at busch, please PM me. I've got a picky eater coming in, but don't want to do too much damage to the spawning population.
Members UseUrHeadFred Posted March 10, 2016 Author Members Posted March 10, 2016 Took some castable sonar readings today. Water temps are around 50F all over, the tiny ponds a little higher. Some of those ponds are a lot deeper than I expected... Fire Lake has a 14.5 foot spot.
