Members Fox Statler Posted March 4, 2007 Author Members Posted March 4, 2007 The only part of Threadfin Shad or any other shad that is red is their gills. Threadfin have a yellow tail fin and a hint of yellow in all other fins except the dorsal fin which is clear. Their backs or dorsum is blue green grading to silvery white on the sides and pearl white on the belly. The shoulder spot of the threadfin shad is black ( a gizzard shad's shoulder is deep purple).
