Hello gang, looking for advice on an after market charging system for 24v setup. It's for a center console that the original finally gave out on.

It needs to be shockproof and waterproof as it will see time on the salt. This is for a guy who isn't overly maintenance oriented, so I simple system that keeps batteries in good shape without too much involvement would be best. Top of price point is around $250 if possible. I appreciate any direction in what to look for.

Thanks for the input guys. And feel free to chime in if you haven't yet.

I'm leaning towards the Minn Kota system. I like how it regulates based off of temperature, as well as saying that it is corrosion and shock proof.

Follow up question would be, the 5 amp is less expensive but is it worth the savings to go with 5 vs. 10? Other than charge faster, is there any other benefits?

M, if you can charge overnight for a good 8 hours, then save the $$ and go with 5 amp/bank.  If you need to get from dead to go faster, then 10 amp is worth the extra cost.

If you're pretty handy, look into the stealth system. great system but I don't know of a dealer who will install. Owner will talk you through install but its on you. Great system. Very

little overnight charging needed in many cases.

Be prepared to stand on your head for the installation (assuming it's a transom-mounted unit).  I've installed 2 of them over the years, and neither were fun at all.

I hear ya. This one is in the center console, but it's going to take some creativity as it is bigger than the last one. And mounting it on the floor like the factory one is not an option. Salt water ate it up.
