I have been invited to fish a tournament sometime in the year on the Beaver Tailwater and was wondering how to fish and what to fish... I cant remember what time of the year. (Im sorry I know how that makes a total difference in what to use) But will someone tell me if they generate what to fish and if they dont... Thank you all!

I'm guessing your referring to April's Faith Howie Benefit tournament on April 21 (see threads on general _ I think)

Ive posted above in the Beaver section on what flies are working (Trip Reports).

Basically its Arkansas Tailwater fare _ scuds sowbugs midges _ plus some buggers.

Longer leaders 10+ 6x tippet, delicate presentation, dead drift, or the right strips on buggers is much more imprtant than the specific fly.

Right now olive midges are hot _ there's a bunch of patterns which will work, standard zebras are good hares ears, PTails etc

See if you can make it over for a fish before hand, we can give you more specific advice closer to the event, or if you really want to learn this place _ book a trip with our FF guides.
