Haven't used my waders much in the past 2-3 years and broke them out last fall to find out they leaked. I tried to find the leak (thanks to the great advice i found in the forum), and it looks like the inner lining has flaked off all along where they were creased when rolled up. I am now guessing that it is pretty bad practice leaving them folded or rolled up. :)

Anyhow I am now looking to purchase some new breathable waders and looked at some Orvis Clearwaters today at BP. Does anybody know if I would be better off getting these then the cheaper WhiteRiver bibs, or does anybody have advice on a good bang for the buck as far as a price vs warranty goes?

FYI, my current waders are Hodgeman Wadelites.

Orvis Clearwaters have a pretty good reputation, but I've never had any. The White River waders at BPS are OK for the price. Between the two, I'd go with the Orvis Clearwaters. Hodgman WadeLites suck...that's about all I can say about that. But the best sub-$200 breathables I've ever worn are the Cabela's Dry Plus breathables.

I'd also consider Simms in your mix, everyone says expensive but they do have two nice under $200 waders and for $250 you can get Goretex.

Ive used Simms for 7 years great products, and more importantly for me good value too. All waders will leak and in my personal experience they last longer, I didn't wnat to use anything else so I got them back to the store. Plus Simms really take care of you AFTER THE SALE

Warranty go to Simms site. I'd have put in better links but technology won't let me.

So here's the highlights

Workmanship & Materials are Guaranteed for the Life of the Product.

If you accidentally damage your Simms wader during the first year that you own it, the first repair is on us.

If, within 30 days of the purchase date, you are unhappy with a Simms wader, bring it back to the dealer you bought it from. Present your sales receipt, and we will replace it, no questions asked.

Blackstone $149.95

Freestone $199.95

L2 Wader $249.95

I'm probably not your closest dealer

, but Im sure there is one in your area. There is a locator on the website

Cheers
