Members Skell9653 Posted April 7, 2016 Members Posted April 7, 2016 There's plenty of strip pits that turn and all face different directions with various steepness. You can always find a good one to fish no matter where the wind is coming from. That's been my experience. It may not look like it's out of the wind but so many of them will make a turn or open up that you'll be able to find a spot out of the wind. On a windy day there's nothing better to fish than strip pits. CoolHandFluke 1
Members BradinMo Posted April 7, 2016 Author Members Posted April 7, 2016 Thanks.I enjoy using a float tube and wondering if the strip pits would be the best option.
Members VJMAC Posted April 8, 2016 Members Posted April 8, 2016 I lived in the Pittsburg area for many years. Those pits are incredible fisheries. Most banks are extremely steep making it a tough walk if fishing the bank. Tubes and small boats are best. The dumps surrounding the pits are by far the best mushroom picking grounds that i've ever found. Good luck !!
