Members justfishing Posted April 18, 2016 Members Posted April 18, 2016 We went up Saturday afternoon, fished in Birch Branch. We ended up with 12 ourselves and a buddy had 3 in 5 hours . I pulled into a pocket and first cast caught one about 13 inches long and when putting her into the live well she was spraying eggs all over the boat. Ended up catching 5 out of that pocket fished it about a hour, left that place and went all the way back in birch and could not catch any keepers in the back several boats back there, came back out in the main part of birch and started catching fish again and ended up with what we had. Think we only had 2 fish that wouldn't measure. But I also lost several at the boat. Baits that we were using was all jigs ( I don't fish much rubber jigs ) red black yellow and red blue white did catch a few on all grey jigs. It seemed to me that the fish were more out in 8 to 10 foot of water. Some would rip rod out of your hand and the others was just like extra weight. All in all it was a great day. Wife slept about 4 hours on the boat and boy read a book. bassfisher 1

bassfisher Posted April 19, 2016 Author Posted April 19, 2016 I'm going tomorrow evening after work rain or shine, kinda glad this rain is blowing past, good report guys.
slab slinger Posted April 19, 2016 Posted April 19, 2016 Jason....Not trying to be rude but all Stroll'r bodies are the same. Bobby Garland baits makes several body styles. They are owned by Gene Larew and located in Tulsa, OK. Slab Slay'r (2" and 3") , Srtoll'r, Baby Shad, Baby Shad Swim'r, Minnow Minder, Slab Doctor, Scent Wiggler, Split Tail Minnow, Hyper Grubs, Plus the new Itty Bitty Series. It's sad I know all this I'm a serious bait junkie. I really like some BG baits but like Zoom plastics I find them way to solft and tear with ease getting only a fish or 2 out of a bait. Wish they would firm up the heads of the baits a little. All in all good baits and great color selection. ramman123 1
