My son Jeff and I and my good friend Steve from Nixa fished Sunday out of Lilley's. It was eighteen degrees when we hit the water. I thought packing a bow or rifle would be more appropriate then a fishing rod, but oh well.

We spent the day casting and trolling gold and rainbow Rapalas and had a blast.

we ended up with about sixty fish most over twelve inches and a lot in the fourteen to sixteen inch range.

We fished between the resort and the power lines with the majority of the action from the public dock to the next bend. When we would hit the right spot all three of us would get hit and a number of times we had multiple fish on at once.

Man, I hated to leave.

Can't tell you how many times the deer hunting has been so slow that I put the rifle and bow in the back seat and brought out the fishing rod to take home some Crappie between November and January.

Looks like you might be doing the same at times now... ;)

Sounds like a good trip...
