Don Posted March 8, 2007 Posted March 8, 2007 Went to RR first opening weekend expecting large crowds. The plan was to fish the CR area or below the park just to get some elbow room. We drove to the end of the fly-only area and guess what, not very crowded. I fished 4 hours that afternoon, mostly experimenting on innovative patterns I spun up over the winter. I caught 15-20 nice sized fish for RR. Most of them 13 in. or so. Most were caught with a brown-olive leech that had a leech dubbing body with the same color marabou tail (lead wrapped hook). We only fished the last two pools of the park. There was a small hatch in the middle afternoon but not much going on top. I caught others on midges, woolybuggers, and crackebacks. My friend caught quite a few on black zebras. Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
