superfly Posted March 9, 2007 Posted March 9, 2007 Midge and I were able to escape to the 11 point on Thursday. The only person I saw all day was Midge's ugly mug. As Brian stated the river is about 1 foot above normal. There is still a lot of run off from the creeks. The fishing was good for the condition of the above normal flows. We caught and released a fair number of fish mostly wild. All of the fish were between 12 and 14 inches. They mainly took Don's crawfish and Prince Nymphes. We also used bitch creeks and San Juan worms in different colors. Most of the day we used a two fly rig with a mix of the flies listed. A lot of weight needed. Get the bugs on the bottom. We did real well drifting from the canoe (wish I had a drift boat) and the upper islands fished well wading. Mary decker Shoals was hard to fish do to the above normal levels. The weather was great! The Eleven Point Canoe Rental as normal was a great service.
Brian Sloss Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 Superfly, That fish on the right really has quite the belly, I couldn't tell that from the view-finder on your camera. He may only be 12-14 inches, but he is eating well. Look forward to seeing you guys next time. Maybe I can get out as well. www.elevenpointflyfishing.com www.elevenpointcottages.com (417)270-2497
superfly Posted March 10, 2007 Author Posted March 10, 2007 Brian, All of the fish looked like they have been eating well (real healthy). Those wild fish fight 3 times as hard as any stocker at the parks or Taney. Look forward to hooking up with you in a month. Keep us updated! Superfly
