Tightline Posted March 10, 2007 Posted March 10, 2007 My sinuses said don't go fishing this mourning 3-10 ,but the twitch in my arm said go.Got to the Pothole before daylight, and naturally they weren't running any water,so I knew it would be tough.Tried the Walleye early no luck.Tried Crappie after daylight no luck. As far as you could see down stream there were Trout rising,so I put on a grey jig and caught 3 nice Rainbows.Nice fat ones full of fight. There are some trapped in the slough by the dam also. Talked to one man down by Swan Creek ,he had just pulled his boat out, said he was heading to Beaver that he had been catching Crappie down there and a friend of his caught some Whites just inside the mouth of Beaver this week. I may wait till I see leaves on the trees before I go again. But I'll probably get that twitch in my arm before that happens! TL
Forsythian Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 That water's been awful flat the last couple of weeks... I'm sure there are some who can catch walleye w/o the current, but I aint one of 'em. A good rain would help... we're running out of calendar, and the distractions (whites & crappie & grabbing) are starting to mount. Cenosillicaphobiac
vonreed Posted March 12, 2007 Posted March 12, 2007 I went down to powersite and river run last night(Sunday). I had one bite at River Run before dark. Then went up by the dam and seen a lot of people fishing so i thought I was in luck maybe. I fished about 1 1/2 hours without a bite. Couldn't even get a trout to save me!
Wayne SW/MO Posted March 13, 2007 Posted March 13, 2007 vonreed have you been sneaking around and trying to learn my methods? On second thought its obvious you haven't, you got a bite. Today's release is tomorrows gift to another fisherman.
