redshad Posted November 28, 2016 Posted November 28, 2016 I put in at State Park at 9:00 Saturday morning. It was still pretty foggy with lite south wind. I got off to a slow start throwing a spinner bait and a square bill. I only managed 3 shorts. I decided to slow down with a jig and a shaky head rigged with a 4" senko. As soon as I slowed down I started catching them. Not as many bites on the jig but a bigger fish. I was getting many bites on the shaky head lots of shorts with a keeper mixed in every now and then. Once the fog cleared and the breeze picked up I started hitting windy banks with a spinner bait and crank bait the bite started getting better in the afternoon. I wouldn't get as many bites on the spinner bait but I was catching better fish. I was getting more bites on the square bill but more short fish. I pulled out right before dark with a total of 33 bass, I had 13 keepers, nothing big, largest was 3.2 lbs. Sunday, I launched at 11:00. Cloudy and the wind was blowing. I thought I was going to kill them on the blades. Well, I was thinking wrong. fished some of the same areas as Saturday with little luck. I fished mostly with a spinner bait and crank bait only catching a short here and there. The wind was to bad to fish well with plastics but I tried a jig for a while with not much action. One short, one barley keeper. I decided to run up the river to get a little wind break. When I got up the river first thing I noticed was that the water was much cooler. 46-47 compared to 54-55 on the lower lake. fished the up the river for a while still not much happening. I caught a few shorts and one more keeper. The only patter I had going Sunday was switching poles. 4 times I set one pole down and picked up another with a different bait and caught one the first cast. Only to go for 30 minutes with out another bite. I would think I was on to something but nope just a random fish. Was back at the boat ramp around 3:00. 11 fish only 2 keepers. Much slower than Saturday. Skeeter ZX190, Hammer time and dprice 3

Members Bassin' fool Posted November 29, 2016 Members Posted November 29, 2016 I fished the CC area Sunday morning with about the same luck, my dad caught a 3.5 lb chunk LM off the back of the boat on a rat-l-trap but that was the only bass of the day. We did manage to catch a few good crappie but the wind was just too bad for my old motor guide to keep up with. dprice 1
