redshad Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 I looked on the MDC website and didn't find any regulations on fishing docks. They sit on public water so I would say they can't keep you from fishing around them.
redshad Posted December 1, 2016 Posted December 1, 2016 I did some looking and there are some commercial zones off limits on Table Rock. Those regulations were issued by the Little Rock COE district. I can not see anything from the KC district that manages Stockton that has any commercial zone off limits on Stockton. I know that the State Park marina is off limits in tournaments that I fish on Stockton. I tried to attached the PDF from the COE that talk about commercial zones on TR. SWLR1130-2-57.pdf
Members livingtofish Posted December 1, 2016 Members Posted December 1, 2016 I understand the issue that the marina ownership has a job to keep the patrons property safe but it seems kind of strange that an angler would have to stay 100ft or more from a dock. I also agree that tournament anglers should not be able to fish around the marina since so many fish are released there. If this issue is because it is private property then what would keep private dock owners on other lakes like table rock or pomme to rope off their dock for no fishing. It also seems odd that patrons of the marina can fish off any dock or around any dock but a general fisherperson cannot fish within 100 to 200ft of a given area. I am most likely not going to fish there since there are so many other areas to fish but the whole rule or agreement seems strange.
dprice Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 Not sure this Pertains but i always understood docks of any kind were licensed and permitted thru the corp thru a committee and application basically either commercial or not and bouys were also permitted by corps with specific rules and measurements thru cove sizing I would recommend asking water patrol if I were very concerned Dprice priceheatingair.com
smbasser Posted December 2, 2016 Posted December 2, 2016 it is not illegal to fish near or around private docks on Stockton Lake. The only violation of law would be if you entered upon the dock without the owner’s permission; in which case it would be trespassing. A commercial dock for purposes on Stockton Lake is a marina. The few marinas on Stockton Lake are licensed by the Corps of Engineers and in doing so, the Corps of Engineers allows the marinas to restrict fishing in or near their docks. Each marina can be different and you would need to check with them to verify their individual fishing restrictions. This is from water patrol dprice 1
