Fishrman Posted March 19, 2007 Posted March 19, 2007 Fished from the island at Shell Knob up the Kings. Saw water temperature from 49 to 55 degrees. Caught numerous fish today, with 6 keepers. 4 lbs. was the biggest I caught today. Caught fish today on rogue and jig mostly, but did have one keeper on spinnerbait. Had one over 7 lbs. last Friday on spinnerbait up the river. Had a good time today, did not have to dodge many boats and all the banks I wanted to fish were open. Hope this helps.
bassman1308 Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 fishrman- wh/burg r 93, right? i was across the lake from you in the kings today. sounds like i should of moved to your side of the lake...I only had 3 today. i knew i should of tried the jig.
Fishrman Posted March 20, 2007 Author Posted March 20, 2007 That is correct. What were you in? Only caught 2 keepers on the jig, but caught a lot of fish on it. The 3 rogue fish were on the main lake. And the one on spinnerbait.
bassman1308 Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 red R-93. we didn't catch many fish at all. obviously, the guide in my boat didn't do his job. oh, that's was me.
Fishrman Posted March 21, 2007 Author Posted March 21, 2007 Next time you see me, come over and introduce yourself. Maybe we can get together some time and fish.
chub minnow Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 I was up there fishing the Kings through Tuesday and the best action I found was actually up a cove early in the morning. The largemouth were feeding off of the top like crazy. Caught three fish in ten minutes on the wild eye swim shad. The best fish was about 18". I caught a bunch of fish around 15" over the four days. This population seems very healthy. Hopefully the fishing will continue to improve over the next few years.
