The Caddis Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 Since this is the closest trout water to my home, I am hoping to get out in a week or two for a day of aqua therapy. I haven't been to the Illinois since last Novemeber, what flies are they liking?
Danimal Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 I went last Sunday and picked up a few on WD40's. Black zebra midges have been pretty hot over there also.I ran into a gentleman over there a couple of weeks ago on a windy day who was tearin' em up dead drifting an olive woolybugger under an indicator. Hope this helps. Dan-o RELEASE THOSE BROWNIES!!
Zach Bearden Posted March 22, 2007 Posted March 22, 2007 Caddis, I was there all of spring break except thursday and Friday So heres my report for the dam. (Monday---Skies were alright and clear not to much wind, fished an orange San Juan with a beadhead, picked up probably 20 or so on 5X tippet dead drift. Fished green Zebra midge with the same results. ) (Tuesday---Skies a bit cloudy wind Ok... Started with some wets and picked up some good fish. Fished the worm and a chamois worn with some good results then a scud and tore em up!) Wednesday fished the zebra and got some good fish today. had one on for bout 2 mins then he came off, I saw him jump once and was probably a pound and a half... Well that was my report...
