Micheal Kyle Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 We fished yesterday the CFS was about 4500 when we started as we fished I could start seeing evidence of the water coming up. We got off the water at about 5. Boated all the way up to I-44 and only had 5 whites. 200 gr sink tip and a big chartreuse clouser. We then started to make our way down to the Hwy 10 bridge and started to see a lot of carp and spoonbills, we decided that looked fun so we stop and started to catch catch carp on the fly. It was a blast I had probably 30 to 40 carp on and got about half of them in. With the biggest one about 12lbs. I looked this morning on the USG's site and it said that the Spring river was at 16 feet and running about 4500 Cfs could someone verify that for me. We have our club outing that was supposed to go to Tulsa and the Spring river. I would appreciate it usually the USG's site is right on. Michael To Know People Is To Know Thier Ways!
Don Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Michael, I bet those carp were a blast. What flies did you catch them on? Thanks.....Don Don May I caught you a delicious bass.
Micheal Kyle Posted March 24, 2007 Author Posted March 24, 2007 Belive it or not big clousers. Some of them were snaged because they were stacked in there so tight but I would say that 80% had the fly in there mouth. I love catching big carp on the fly it just like catching redfish on the fly. If you have never done it you shuold go out and find some Stockton is a great place to fish for carp. In the summer you can find them in the back of a lot of coves.
