Any good places at these lakes to net shad for bait?

Locations would be extremely helpful so we dont have to run to truman/stokton just to get shad to take to beaver and norfork!

thanks.

We tried the area below the power plant a couple of years ago. Caught a few VERY nice baits but before it was over I tore up a good net. I dont think I will try that spot again. I have seen people throwing a net below the darn. Dont know if they were doing anygood or not.

You can get shad right below 65 highway in Springfield Lake. You'll need a boat to get out in the water though. I've gotten bucket fulls of shad out of there before for trapping bait. Hope this helps.

I have gotten many bucket fulls of shad around 65 hwy on Lk Springfield with a thrownet. You do need a boat but sometimes you can get all you want in one throw!!

Nothing with a motor attached over a 6hp is allowed on the lake even if you do not run the big motor. Sorry.

Thanks for the info guys. Looks like we will have to use a boat to consistantly catch shad.

Can you put any boat in at Lake Springfield if you only use the trolling motor and not even start the gas motor? If not im going to look for a small aluminum boat or something to put in to catch bait.

thanks!
