Here's the link that inspired my initial post. I like the geodesic design. It has an excellent customer review. Price on this one prevents my purchase at this time.

I like the aluminum pole option with this one, durability and weight is desirable. I just can't believe difference in price of the tent with aluminum vs. fiberglass poles.

Maybe it's because of that "limited budget" thing, but if I spend $500 on a tent, it better set itself up and start the campfire, too! :D BTW, my chair has a cup holder, so my tent doesn't need them, too!

I can bring home the trout...fry it up in a pan...and never let you forget I caught it! 'Cause I'm a woman!

I tried out the $100 Swiss Gear at Beaver this weekend. Wow! A hotel on the lake. The interior space was huge and my friend plans to get one because he thinks the size and price will impress his wife. My concern is durability in a storm. I had to use factory stakes because the stake loops were too small to use my heavy duty Army stakes. Troutchaser explained that a solution to that is that he has a tent that larger peg loops have been sown on to alow space for bigger stakes. This tent is made for two people to set up and I took it down myself without problems. The space is great because I like to be able to stand up. There is room for gear, and extra room for chairs if we need to play cards, chess, checkers, backgammon during a heavy downpour. My three daughters will take over this one in June when we go to Stockton.

10 men in one tent... :phew::haix::blur: a true methane factory...

What I don't get is how they can call it a 4 man tent when there is not enough room for ONE man and his gear... :huh1:

This is a nice tent. They say if a person is careful you can make your own for about $500

Hey, GF... what's that trailer pushin'? Looks like a 70s-ish Chevy or GMC stepside...
