Members ozarks Posted April 2, 2007 Members Posted April 2, 2007 mulelipper: I am planning a Float trip for Gooseneck to Doniphan. The Missouri Department of Conservation's "A Paddler's Guide to Missouri" shows this to be a 20 mile trip. Are there any hazards or DANGEROUS sections on this part of the river? I was at Gooseneck campground 3-31-07 the river appeared to be up a little and the current was very swift.
RiverRunner Posted April 3, 2007 Posted April 3, 2007 I fished the 11 point not far from you (near Dalton, AR) a couple of weeks back and had the same results, small fish, and the river seemed empty. I wonder when the lower Current and 11 point are going to turn on?
Members mulelipper Posted April 5, 2007 Author Members Posted April 5, 2007 Hello Bleeding Shiner, actually you were looking at the aorst part down this way. Right therre at gooseneck is about the fastest. There are a cople of spots similar, about halfway down at Harrysroot, is a hard left hand turn but you can see it coming. Never the less always be careful...by the way canoeing is a little quiker I suggest topwaters and spinners,,HAVE FUN !
polock Posted April 12, 2007 Posted April 12, 2007 harrysroot sure has changed over the past 17 years.. i can remember when i was 7 and just started running the boat off of my dads lap.. i really had to pay attention when i went through there... now all ya have to do is watch for boats so you can make the wide right into the hard left. i can remember when it actually proved its name lol.. mule do i know you.. we have the cabin on yellowbank just down and across the river from cedar creek.
Members mulelipper Posted April 20, 2007 Author Members Posted April 20, 2007 I do know where your cabin is,,It has been there for a time,,Trying river and wappapello this week end I report here..
