Greg Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 This Tues I'm taking a short trip to St. Louis from Springfield up I44. I've never fished the Meramec at all. Can someone please direct me to the cardiac and/or suicide accesses that I've heard about? Meaning from I44. I'd like to stop there on my way back for a few hours. thanks, Greg "My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it" - Koos Brandt Greg Mitchell
Kicknbass Posted April 7, 2007 Posted April 7, 2007 Look up Woodson K Woods Memerial Conservation area on the MDC website. The accesses are from a gravel road off KK in Crawford Co. 44 west to ZZ east to KK west to gravel road?? You will go down the road untill it turns private. This will be suicide. You will pass a parking lot (wide spot in the road) prior to this location that's cardiac. I'd go to Bennett. The access is easier. hank franklin Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Take Brennan Road off KK, then a left on Besmer Road.
mcp633 Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 Try this http://www.missouritrouthunter.com/MeramecRiver.htm. This is how I found it the first time. If you don't stand behind our troops, please feel free to stand in front of them
bikehikefish Posted April 9, 2007 Posted April 9, 2007 I don't remember seeing the Brennan road sign when I was there a couple weeks ago - it may be gone. KK takes a sharp left where Brennen road cuts in from the right. Cardiac is a nice place to fish; the long walk from the parking lot to the river keeps the crowds away, and this time of year there isn't too much aluminum to contend with. You can also get to the Meramec trophy area by walking through Meramec Springs park.
Greg Posted April 10, 2007 Author Posted April 10, 2007 Thanks for the replies. I'm going to give it a go tomorrow afternoon if the weather cooperates. Greg "My biggest worry is that my wife (when I'm dead) will sell my fishing gear for what I said I paid for it" - Koos Brandt Greg Mitchell
