Went down yesterday morning. Weather started cold, but turned out to be a cool but nice day. Very few people out yesterday because of the holiday. Fishing started slow caught 2-3 on a rusty colored midge. Next moved on to a tan scud, picked up 2-3 more. Then at about 11:30 I was getting down to the last few flys in my box, (Been to busy fishing to tie) out of curiosity I threw a gold hares ear, not something I normally use at Taney. Wow first cast got a nice one. Got a couple more. Then I got tangled in the wind, doh  . After untangling I decided to again change flys. this time I put on a gold bead head prince nymph (again, not something I normally use) with a tan scud as a dropper. Wow! Is all I can say. Caught one just about every single cast for about two hours until I was forced to leave for family Easter time. Turned out to be one of the best days I have had in a long time. Just remember it pays to experiment and try something new or different from the norm. I will be tying more prince's for my Taney box from now on!

Good report...

Several issues kept me from coming down yesterday, but now I wish I had.

I've found Prince Nymphs are one of those flies that should be at least tried once when nothing seems to be working. That reminds me... I need to tie up a few to replentish my box...

That Fat boy fishing Fri.,Sat., & Sun. with the orange OAF hat was me.I stayed mostly around the top of the rebar hole,a little below it and just a little below outlet #1.My hands were cold so instead of doing a lot of tying I stayed with a possum colored scud with an Adam's Bug dropper(from Anglers & Archers).Caught alot of bo's and 1 brown all on the dropper.Nothing big nothing small just fun size.Has anyone fished Jolley Mills ? I'm coming down next month and going to Eureka Springs and thought I might try it.Everyone beware above the rebar hole there are about 8 3lb. rainbows that try and knock you down if you get in above you knees. :bye:

I was down there yesterday afternoon. Nymphing was slow, just a few hookups. Started larger flies and picked up over two dozen, missed just as many. Took them all from rebar on down. One was a 14 in brown. Used salmon eggs bodacious, pine squirrel sculpin, and a variety of woolies.

I was there yesterday too. Nice day even if it was pretty cold. No crowds. I was down at the rocking chair and fished down to the old boat ramp and back. I got there at about 2 PM and by 5 PM I pretty much had the place to myself. The fishing was really good for me. No monsters but several nice fish in the 16 to 17" range. The last several trips I haven't caught any browns. This trip I took one beautifully colored brown around 14" right at the old boat ramp.

Caught them on the usual - scuds, zebras and leeches.
