I would like to hear some gear recommendations including rod length, action, reel size, line size and lures for these crazy strong fish. I would be able to chase these fish at numerous places in MO, as well as in KS. Thank you in advance.

drew03cmc, I have fished for hybrids here in oklahoma, I do mostly in the tailwaters of Oologah and Keystone, the gear that I use is a medium-heavy to a heavy action rod, 6.5 to 7.0 in length, with a Quantum baitcaster with at least 4 ball bearings, my favorite lure is a white zoom super fluke either on a 1/2 or 3/4 ounce jig head depending on amount of water being released, oh yeah, 20# line, I am sure there is several other ways, but this is my personal choices, good luck, Daryl.

Daryl my man, where are you located? Have you been fishing Oologah Tailwater lately? I crossed it a week ago, and it looked really really good.

I am located in Chelsea,Ok., northeast of Claremore on Hwy. 66, action started heating up before that !*&%$ cold front hit, but with the warmer weather forecasted I expect it to heat up again, Daryl.
