drew03cmc Posted April 13, 2007 Posted April 13, 2007 I would like to hear some gear recommendations including rod length, action, reel size, line size and lures for these crazy strong fish. I would be able to chase these fish at numerous places in MO, as well as in KS. Thank you in advance. Andy
Members daryl Posted April 16, 2007 Members Posted April 16, 2007 drew03cmc, I have fished for hybrids here in oklahoma, I do mostly in the tailwaters of Oologah and Keystone, the gear that I use is a medium-heavy to a heavy action rod, 6.5 to 7.0 in length, with a Quantum baitcaster with at least 4 ball bearings, my favorite lure is a white zoom super fluke either on a 1/2 or 3/4 ounce jig head depending on amount of water being released, oh yeah, 20# line, I am sure there is several other ways, but this is my personal choices, good luck, Daryl.
Rusty Posted April 16, 2007 Posted April 16, 2007 Daryl my man, where are you located? Have you been fishing Oologah Tailwater lately? I crossed it a week ago, and it looked really really good.
Members daryl Posted April 19, 2007 Members Posted April 19, 2007 I am located in Chelsea,Ok., northeast of Claremore on Hwy. 66, action started heating up before that !*&%$ cold front hit, but with the warmer weather forecasted I expect it to heat up again, Daryl.
